LocalTrades.org

Plumbers, electricians, carpenters and welders keep towns running. LocalTrades.org gives them, and the people who hire them, a shared home.

A directory could list licensed tradespeople by town. A workforce program could promote apprenticeships for young people. A union or trade association could share training and job news, and a community board could help neighbors find trustworthy local help. A badge program that verifies licenses and insurance would make the directory more useful than a generic listing site. Training calendars and job boards would bring in young people who are thinking about learning a trade.

"Local" suggests a neighborly network, and the .org adds a trusted, community feel. It's simple to say on a radio ad or flyer. It's priced well within reach for a community project, a straightforward one-time purchase with full ownership after payment.
